Courtesy of Blue Oyster Cult2016 marks the 40th anniversary of the release of Blue Öyster Cult‘s biggest hit “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper,” which reached #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 back in 1976. To celebrate the milestone, the veteran rockers have lined up a series of concerts dubbed “The Reaper Residency,” which will take place at B.B. King Blues Club in New York City.
The three-show engagement spans a few months, with gigs scheduled for February 13, April 7 and June 17. The residency is just fraction of the concerts Blue Öyster Cult has on its 2016 itinerary, which currently includes more than 30 performances in the U.S. alone.
The band’s upcoming schedule kicks off January 28 in Milwaukee, a show that also features Jefferson Starship, and is plotted out all the way through an October 15 concert in Butler, Texas. Throughout the year, Blue Öyster Cult will share bills with such other well-known acts as Foghat, Vanilla Fudge, Kansas, Slaughter, Quiet Riot, Ratt, KC and the Sunshine Band and Orleans.
