
PRNewsFoto/Marvel MusicMarvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy movie brought the sound of old-school pop, rock and soul to a new audience, and it looks like the soundtrack to the upcoming animated series will be no different.
Gloria Gayor‘s “I Will Survive,” Three Dog Night‘s “Joy to the World” and Peaches and Herb‘s “Shake Your Groove Thing” are just three of the tracks featured on Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Mix Vol. 1 (Music from the Animated Television Series). Also included are Doby Gray‘s “Drift Away,” Queen‘s “Don’t Stop Me Now,” Joe Walsh‘s “Rocky Mountain Way”and Thin Lizzy‘s “Boys Are Back in Town,” as well as two songs from Walsh’s band The James Gang — “Funk No. 49” and “Walk Away.” Of course the album also will include Blue Swede‘s “Hooked on a Feeling,” which was featured prominently in the movie.
The soundtrack will be released October 16. The show debuts with a special one-hour premiere featuring back-to-back episodes, Saturday, September 26 at 9:30 p.m., ET on Disney XD.
