Eagle Rock EntertainmentAerosmith launched a North American summer tour over the weekend, and now the band has revealed that its recent concert film Aerosmith Rocks Donington 2014 will be released as a home video in various configurations on September 4.
The movie, which documents a June 2014 performance the band gave at the famed U.K. hard-rock extravaganza the Download Festival, will be available for purchase as a DVD/two-CD set, a DVD/two-LP vinyl collection and a Blu-ray/two-CD package, as well as a digital download.
The film, which was shot in high-definition, captured Aerosmith playing a 20-song set that included such classic tunes as “Walk This Way,” “Dream On,” “Sweet Emotion,” “Love in an Elevator,” “Janie’s Got a Gun,” “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” and “Dude (Looks Like a Lady).” It also features a cover of The Beatles’ “Come Together,” and a number of lesser-known gems from Aerosmith’s catalog, such as “Eat the Rich,” “Last Child,” “Home Tonight” and “No More No More.”
A special pre-sale for the Aerosmith Rocks Donington 2014 packages offering various bonus items will be announced soon.
“We’re really proud and grateful to have been chosen to headline the Download festival at Donington for 2014,” bassist Tom Hamilton said about the concert. “It was an awesome experience and I think this film captures it.”
Guitarist Brad Whitford added, “Playing in Donington has always been a highlight of the tour for us. The fervor of the crowd there is a sight to behold and this night was no different.”
Aerosmith Rocks Donington 2014 got its premiere in February, when it was screened in hundreds of North American theaters as a special one-night-only event.
