Elton John's Childhood Home Is for Sale

ABC/Randy HolmesElton John‘s childhood home is officially on the market.  The three-bedroom semi-detached home on Pinner Hill Road in London is up for sale for the first time in 40 years, according to the London Evening Standard.

The home is going for about $817,000, which is reportedly below average for the suburban street on which it’s located.  Its current owner is an 87-year-old man identified only as Mr. Purcell.

“We knew all about the history of the house growing up as my mum went to school with Elton’s mum,” Mr. Purcell’s son says.  “His old room was mine for a while until my big brother claimed it as his.”

Purcell says his family even used to make money off the house, because film crews from all over the world would pay to come and see where the pop-rock legend grew up.

The son adds, “It was a lovely house to grow up in and my dad is only moving due to having a fall and needing closer care.”
