The exhibit will feature rare photos, concert posters, tour books and other assorted memorabilia, as well as various gowns that Wilson wore on stage.  Among the clothing items Mary contributed to the display are “Primette Pristine” gowns that the group wore in 1961 when it was known as The Primettes, the “White de Mink” outfit Wilson donned during a 1966 appearance on ABC’s Hollywood Palace, “Turquoise Freeze” dresses The Supremes were featured in during a 1967 Ed Sullivan Show appearance and a “Red Hot” gown Mary wore on a 1970 Sullivan Show that showcased the debut of a new Supremes lineup.

“This collection is a gift that I give to all of those who have ever loved music and glamour,” says Wilson about the assortment of gowns she contributed.  “As you look at all of these wonderful treasures, please be reminded that three little black girls dared to dream, and made their dreams come true.”

The “Legends of Motown: Celebrating The Supremes” exhibition will run until spring 2016.

On June 24, the day before the exhibit opens, Wilson will take part in a sold-out interview and Q&A event at the Grammy Museum’s Clive Davis Theater in conjunction with the museum’s ongoing “A Conversation With” series.
