
Harpo Inc./George BurnsIn 1996 Prince appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, and, in honor of the late singer, Winfrey’s OWN network will be re-airing the episode this Saturday, April 23, at 8 p.m.
The episode, which originally aired on November 21, 1996, was Prince’s first interview after his name change, according to the network. It features Prince taping a segment at Winfrey’s West Loop studio and the media mogul visiting Prince at his Paisley Park recording studio in Minnesota, where the singer died Thursday morning at age 57. The interview is said to highlight the artist’s thoughts on his musical genius, lifestyle, soul mate and future in music.
