1976 Beach Boys TV Special Coming to DVD in June

Eagle Rock EntertainmentA Beach Boys TV special that originally aired on NBC in 1976 will be released as a DVD and a digital download on June 18.  The Beach Boys: Good Vibrations Tour includes footage of the band performing at California's Anaheim Stadium while supporting their 15 Big Ones album, which included a hit cover of the Chuck Berry tune "Rock 'n' Roll Music."  The group's lineup at the time featured all five original members -- brothers Brian, Carl and Dennis Wilson, Mike Love and Al Jardine.

The show offers performances of such classic Beach Boys tunes as "God Only Knows," "I Get Around," "Good Vibrations," "Surfin' USA" and "California Girls."  Good Vibrations Tour also features interviews with the band members and a number of quirky vignettes.  The program was produced by Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels, while the sketches were penned by Michaels, SNL stars Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi and SNL writer Alan Zweibel.
