Lynyrd Skynyrd Cancels Two Concerts After Guitarist Gary Rossington Is Hospitalized

Photo: Clay Patrick McBrideBad news, Lynyrd Skynyrd fans.  Guitarist Gary Rossington is suffering from an abdominal infection and has hospitalized near his home in Jackson, Wyoming.  The 61-year-old rocker's illness has forced the band to cancel the first two shows of its 2013 tour schedule, which had been slated to take place yesterday and today at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi.

According to a message on Lynyrd Skynyrd's official Facebook page, the group is waiting "further tests and treatment" before sharing more information about the status of Rossington's health.  The band's next scheduled performance is a February 23 gig at the Coushatta Casino Resort Pavilion in Kinder, Louisiana.
