Listen to Keith Richards and Tom Waits' Collaboration from Upcoming "Pirates of the Caribbean"-Inspired Compilation

Credits: Jane Rose/Jesse DylanThe imperfect charms of Tom Waits' gruff bellow and Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards' weathered tenor complement each other perfectly on a new version of the traditional folk tune "Shenadoah."  The track, from the upcoming Son of Rogue's Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs & Chanteys compilation, can be heard in its entirety online now on YouTube.

"Shenandoah," which also features guitar work from Richards, is one of 36 songs included on the album, a sequel to 2006's Rogue's Gallery, which was inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.  Like its predecessor, Son of Rogue's Gallery was produced by Hal Willner and executive produced by Johnny Depp and Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski.  The two-CD set will be released on February 19.

Among the many other artists appearing on the collection of mostly sea-themed tunes are Todd Rundgren, Patti Smith, Dr. John, R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe, Iggy Pop, Marianne Faithfull, The Bangles' Susanna Hoffs and Frank Zappa & the Mothers of Invention.
